Her first thought
As she skidded into the intersection
Was the precision logistics of her life
"I don't have time to die
At this stoplight today"
And as time slowed
In anticipation of the impact
Her second thought was
"I really need to chill out while driving"
And then
"I probably should have gotten the brakes checked
When I had the chance"
A verdigris sheen of fresh tree pollen
Coats the entire scene.
I'm your man baby, outside of your window
As the moon, waning
Rises over yonder.
